At PACT Physio & Rehab, Miranda NSW we're expert in Spinal Manipulation and Mobilisation. Our founder, Andrew Ellis, has over 15 years of hands-on experience as a Physiotherapist.

If you're struggling with any of the following, spinal joint mobilisation or manipulation may provide effective relief:
We regularly treat workers compensation, CTP (motor vehicle accident), Medicare, Comcare and private patients.
While both spinal joint mobilisation and manipulation are manual therapy techniques used by physiotherapists to improve spinal movement and reduce pain, they differ in technique, force, and intent.
Spinal joint mobilisation is a gentle, controlled technique that involves slow, repetitive movements applied to stiff or painful joints. It aims to gradually increase joint range of motion, reduce pain, and restore normal movement patterns. Mobilisation is often used when patients are experiencing acute pain, muscle guarding, or are not suitable for high-velocity techniques. It’s ideal for sensitive or post-surgical cases and forms a cornerstone of many evidence-based physiotherapy treatments.
Spinal joint manipulation, on the other hand, involves a quick, precise thrust applied to a joint, often resulting in an audible “crack” or cavitation. This technique can lead to immediate improvements in mobility and a noticeable reduction in pain. It is typically used for patients with restricted spinal segments, particularly when traditional mobilisation or exercise alone hasn’t produced sufficient results. Manipulation is a high-skill, low-risk intervention when performed by trained clinicians like our team at PACT Physio & Rehab.
At PACT Physio & Rehab, we’re highly experienced in both techniques. We tailor our approach based on your injury, presentation, and comfort level—ensuring the right strategy is applied at the right time to get you moving and feeling better, faster.
