Why it matters to you

Lost time and claim costs start on day one

The early days of an injury shape the whole claim. The longer a worker is off, the harder and more costly the recovery, so the practical lever for an employer is fast, well communicated treatment that keeps someone safely at or returning to work.

We provide early intervention physiotherapy designed to reduce lost time and support a durable return to work. From the first session you get a clear clinical picture, a same day report and a plan you, your insurer and your case manager can all act on.

Andrew Ellis brings a background as a Senior Rehabilitation Consultant and Workplace Health and Safety Advisor, with extensive experience providing injury management advice to insurers and employers. The aim is simple: the right care early, with no gaps in communication.

  • A single accountable contact, not a rotating roster of clinicians
Return to work

Suitable duties and staged return to work

A safe return to work is a staged process, not a switch. We assess current capacity, then work with the treating doctor, your case manager and your supervisors to build suitable duties that fit the worker and the workplace.

Plans step capacity up over time as the worker improves, moving from restricted duties toward full role as the evidence supports it. We keep the duties realistic for what you can actually offer, and we document the plan so everyone is working to the same page.

Where a certificate needs to reflect new capacity, we feed the clinical picture to the treating doctor, who completes the Certificate of Capacity. We work alongside that certificate so treatment supports the plan it sets out. You can read more on the workers compensation hub or get in touch to talk through a specific case.

How billing works

Direct insurer billing, no gap for the worker

On an accepted NSW workers compensation claim, reasonably necessary treatment is billed directly to the insurer, so your worker has nothing to pay at the time of their appointment and no gap fee. We invoice the insurer on their behalf for all approved sessions.

Where a worker's injury has not been treated by a physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath or accredited exercise physiologist before, and treatment begins within three months of the injury, SIRA allows up to eight physiotherapy consultations before any further approval is needed. This applies to accepted claims and care delivered by a SIRA approved practitioner. The number is different in other situations, so we confirm the exact arrangement with your insurer or case manager for each individual claim.

If a worker needs treatment beyond the pre approved sessions, we submit an Allied Health Treatment Request to the insurer, setting out progress, any barriers and the proposed plan. Once the insurer approves it, care continues with no cost to the worker. We handle that paperwork so there is no gap in care.

Schemes and reach

icare NSW, CTP and regional teams

We work across icare NSW and its scheme agents EML, Allianz, Gallagher Bassett, QBE and DXC, the CTP motor accident insurers NRMA, QBE, GIO and Allianz, and WorkCover Queensland. Andrew works closely with insurers, case managers and employers to support a safe, sustainable return to work.

For distributed or regional teams, telehealth physiotherapy is available across Australia through PACT Virtual Care, so a worker in a regional site can be assessed and treated without travel. Under workers compensation, telehealth is conditional and usually needs insurer pre approval, so we assess clinical appropriateness case by case and arrange any required approval before we begin.

PACT Physio & Rehab is an approved provider under SIRA (icare NSW), based at Unit 1/196 Sylvania Road, Miranda, serving employers across the Sutherland Shire and beyond.

Get started

Refer a worker or talk it through

If you have a worker who has been injured, the sooner we assess them the better the outcome tends to be. Send through the worker's details and claim number where you have one, and we will arrange an early appointment in Miranda or by telehealth.

Not sure whether a claim is the right path yet, or want to talk through suitable duties for a specific role first? Get in touch and we will give you practical, straight advice.

Cost

No out of pocket cost

On an accepted workers compensation or CTP claim, your treatment is billed directly to the insurer. There is no gap and nothing for you to pay at your appointment, and we handle the invoicing for you. If you are a private patient, see our fees.

Refer a worker

Refer a worker to PACT

Send through the details and we will contact the worker, arrange an early appointment and report back the same day as the assessment.

We will be in touch within one business day. Details are used only to arrange the worker's care.

For complex or long running claims, see RADAR by PACT.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

How does early intervention reduce our claim costs?
Treating an injury early tends to shorten recovery and reduce lost time, which are the main drivers of claim cost. We assess quickly, report the same day and plan suitable duties so a worker can stay at or return to work safely. We describe this as supporting a safe, durable return to work, not as a guaranteed outcome, since every claim is different.
How fast do we get a clinical report?
We provide a clinical report on the same day as the assessment, so your insurer and case manager have the information they need to keep the claim moving from day one. Ongoing progress is reported as treatment continues.
Will our injured worker have anything to pay?
On an accepted NSW workers compensation claim, reasonably necessary treatment is billed directly to the insurer, so there is no gap fee and nothing for the worker to pay at the appointment. This applies to accepted claims and approved or reasonably necessary treatment, not to pending or declined claims.
How many sessions are covered before further approval?
Where the injury has not been treated by a physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath or accredited exercise physiologist before, and treatment begins within three months of the injury, SIRA allows up to eight consultations on an accepted claim before further approval is needed. The number is different in other situations, for example up to three more than three months after injury, so we confirm the exact arrangement with your insurer or case manager.
Can you help workers in regional sites?
Yes. Telehealth physiotherapy is available across Australia through PACT Virtual Care, which suits distributed or regional teams. Under workers compensation, telehealth is conditional and usually needs insurer pre approval, so we assess suitability case by case and arrange any approval required before starting.
Who is our point of contact?
Andrew Ellis, founder and principal physiotherapist, is your single accountable contact. He is AHPRA registered and SIRA approved, with a background as a Senior Rehabilitation Consultant and WHS Advisor and extensive experience working with insurers, employers and injured workers across the SIRA NSW scheme.
