How CTP works

Your treatment, billed to the insurer

Under the NSW Compulsory Third Party (CTP) scheme, if you are injured in a motor accident you can claim for reasonably necessary treatment, including physiotherapy, no matter who was at fault. On an accepted claim we bill your CTP insurer directly, so there is no gap and nothing for you to pay at your appointment, and we handle the reporting your insurer and any rehabilitation provider need.

You can choose your own physiotherapist for a CTP claim. To get started, lodge your claim with the CTP insurer of the vehicle involved, then bring us your claim number and we confirm your cover before we begin. We always check your exact arrangement with the insurer first.

Insurers

The CTP insurers we bill directly

We treat motor accident injuries under all NSW CTP insurers, including NRMA, QBE, GIO, Allianz and AAMI. Every invoice goes straight to the insurer, so you never handle a bill or pay a gap on an accepted claim, from your first assessment to your final report.

If your injury also involves a work vehicle or a workers compensation claim, we manage both pathways and make sure your treatment is billed to the right scheme.

  • NSW CTP insurers: NRMA, QBE, GIO, Allianz and AAMI
  • Direct insurer billing, so no gap for you
  • Same day reports to keep your claim moving
  • Both CTP and workers comp pathways managed where they overlap
Who you will see

Led by Andrew Ellis

PACT was founded by Andrew Ellis, our principal physiotherapist, an AHPRA registered physiotherapist who is completing an Executive MBA and brings more than 14 years of experience across the NSW compensable schemes. He built his approach across a decade in occupational rehabilitation, so your reports are clear and your recovery is planned properly.

Every PACT physiotherapist works to the same standard he set, so whoever you see, your care and your reporting stay consistent from first visit to discharge.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Do you treat CTP patients from across the Sutherland Shire?
Yes. Our Miranda clinic is central to the Shire and treats motor accident injuries for patients from Cronulla to Menai to Engadine and everywhere between, and PACT Virtual Care covers the rest of NSW by telehealth. On an accepted claim both are billed direct to the CTP insurer with nothing for you to pay.
How much does CTP physiotherapy cost me?
Nothing on an accepted claim. Reasonably necessary treatment under a NSW CTP claim is billed directly to your CTP insurer, so there is no gap and nothing to pay at your appointment. We confirm your cover with the insurer before we begin.
Can I choose my own physio for a CTP claim?
Yes. You can choose your own physiotherapist for a NSW CTP motor accident claim. Bring us your claim number and the name of the CTP insurer, and we confirm your cover and get started.
Do I need a referral or to be at fault?
You do not need to be at fault to claim reasonably necessary treatment under the NSW CTP scheme, and you do not need a GP referral to start physiotherapy on an accepted claim. You will need to lodge your claim with the CTP insurer of the vehicle involved and have a claim number.
What injuries do you treat after a car accident?
Most commonly whiplash, neck and back pain, and soft tissue injuries, along with shoulder, knee and other joint injuries from the impact. We assess what is going on, give you a clear diagnosis, and build a plan to settle the pain and get you moving again.
Can I start by telehealth if travel hurts?
Yes. In the early weeks when travel is painful, PACT Virtual Care can start your care by telehealth across NSW, then bring you into the Miranda clinic for hands on treatment as you improve.
