Chronic pain physiotherapy

A broader, paced approach for pain that has stayed past the normal healing time.

The treatment

What it is

Chronic or persistent pain is pain that has stayed past the normal healing time, often three months or more. It usually involves more than the original tissue, and it responds best to a broader approach than a quick fix.

We take time to understand your history and goals, then combine graded movement, hands on therapy and clear education about how pain works. The aim is to help you do more of what matters with less flare up, at a pace that suits you.

Persistent pain is a real focus of Andrew's work

Andrew Ellis has been a physiotherapist since 2009, and persistent pain is one of the areas he is most dedicated to. Rather than chasing a single spot, he takes the time to understand the whole picture, your history, your goals and how your pain behaves, and builds the plan around you.

Persistent pain rewards patience and experience. The plan is paced so you gain ground without constant flare ups.

Choosing your clinician matters. Who you choose to guide you through persistent pain makes a difference, so it is worth researching your clinician before you commit. You can read what Andrew's patients say, independently, on Google.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Will I be told it is all in my head?
No. Persistent pain is real. It just involves the nervous system as well as the tissues, which is why a broader plan tends to work better than treating one spot alone.
Is more rest the answer?
Usually not for long. Too much rest can make things stiffer and more sensitive. We find the right amount of movement and build from there.
How long does it take?
Persistent pain takes time to turn around. We focus on steady, realistic progress rather than promising a fast cure.
How much does it cost?
Initial physiotherapy is $165 for 60 minutes and follow ups are $142 for 40 minutes. Approved workers comp and CTP appointments are billed directly to the insurer.
