Soft tissue release

Skilled hands on work through muscles, tendons and ligaments to ease tension and restore flexibility.

The treatment

What it is

Soft tissue release is skilled, hands on work through muscles, tendons and ligaments. We use targeted pressure and movement to ease tension, settle pain and restore flexibility in the areas that need it.

It is rarely used on its own. We combine it with joint work, dry needling where it helps, and a clear exercise plan, so the relief holds rather than fading by the next day.

How it works at PACT

1

Find the source

We assess which tissues are tight or overloaded, and why, so the work goes where it counts.

2

Release

Targeted hands on techniques ease tension and improve the way the area moves.

3

Reinforce

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Is it like a remedial massage?
There is overlap, but soft tissue release is guided by a physiotherapy assessment and used as part of a treatment plan with a clear goal, not as a standalone massage.
Will it be painful?
Some techniques feel firm, but we work within your comfort and adjust as we go. It should never feel like something to brace against.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to book privately. Referrals apply for Medicare plans and claim pathways.
How much does it cost?
Initial physiotherapy is $165 for 60 minutes and follow ups are $142 for 40 minutes. Approved workers comp and CTP appointments are billed directly to the insurer.
